Deanna and I went to Artscape last weekend. Baltimore's free annual art
show has gotten a lot bigger than since the last time we attended in
2004. We enjoyed walking around to all of the little nooks and crannies
it used. Here was my (not surprisingly) favorite piece:
The piece is called
Face Forward and is designed by Christian Ristow from New Mexico. Here is a
short YouTube video if you'd like to see it in action. The giant robot head was controlled by this row of remotes. Each remote independently controlled a part of the face: eyebrows, eyes, lips, jaw, so on.
We also very much enjoyed the insanity of the
Baltimore Rock Opera. They were doing an ongoing performance/experience/lipsync on the street that was a highlight of the festival.
